Bonjour Homies

The Tehan's have arrived in Gay Paris. Our flight was pretty uneventful, just Dad and I doing last minute cramming of French while Mum bided her time watching children's movies. Oh, and there was also the man who kept reclining his chair back into my face, however he was hot so I'll let him get away with it. Oh and there was the fact that we flew over BAGHDAD!!!! What the? It's always a bit concerning when the pilot announces that you're approaching the neutral zone.

We were feeling quite confident after our success in Dubai, however upon our arrival we were supposed to call our landlord to let him know we were leaving the airport. Despite the fact that I called Telstra prior to our departure to organise interntational roaming my mobile did not work. We were stressing out as there were no shops to get change for the public phones and the only phone card machine was broken. When we approached the information booth and told them of our dilemma the attendant was kind enough to lend us his own personal mobile to make the call. I informed Pierre (the landlord) that my phone wasn't working and that I would not be able to call him again from downstairs when we arrived, however I was pretty sure he didn't understand me. I was right. When we got to the apartment we were left stranded. Our taxi driver helped us out alot, walking up and down the street asking if we could use telephones in the shops, however it wasn't until I went in to a restaurant and asked to use their phone that a really nice customer let me use his. Everyone is so friendly here! Oh and Rebecca, Pierre was hot...but married.

The apartment is AWESOME, everything has a remote control, which can get quite confusing. The balcony basically looks directly over the Eiffel Tower, the pictures on the internet do not do it justice. You can actually see the tower from the lounge room. We have three balconies, which are fantastique! We've deduced that the owners are a gay couple, not because of the pictures of them together or the tasteful decorations, but moreso because of the naked men magnets that are plastered all over the fridge. My favourite is the nude guy reclining while watching the other take a shower. Gay Paris!

Today we had a bit of a walk around and by "a bit of a walk around" I mean we walked for 8 hours. Dad is going off his nut with speaking French. The Frenchies love it, it's hilarious. We went out for lunch and then went on a boat tour which was great value for only 10 Euro. Tonight we had dinner at the Eiffel Tower which was amazing. We dodged the queue with our reservation and the plebs lining up were so pissed off. Dad and I revelled in it, so much so that we seriously considered walking out of the tower and lining up again just so we could walk past them again and rub it in! We had the best seat in the house, right on the window. We then found out it was because we had accidentally booked the wrong package and had ordered the "anniversary" package. Oopsadaisy. On the bright side I got to blow out some candles while French men sang Happy Birthday to me! Once again Dad couldn't stop reeling off his French. Lolly and Livi I've bought you a gift from the tower which I think you'll love, but

My anniversary cake...pretty embarassing!
Mum and Dad yelled at me.

We were very excited today to be approached by gypsies, multiple times. Mum has no idea what's going on and always walks through packs of them unscathed. Dad and I think it's cos she's bought herself a scarf here that she wraps around her head, thus becoming one of their kind. Oh, and that reminds me. Mum did one of her classic word slip ups today. Apparently she wants to go and see the "Googles", by which she means the Gargoyles. Nice one mum.
