The needlework and bobbin lace on display are just outstanding. To me, Bill, the pictures speak more effectively than I can with words. One thing that impressed me was the amount of work the women did to make the men's clothing absolutely fantastic. I can understand the strong emphasis on women learning needlework in those days. In order to fit in with society and look properly dressed at festivals, a family had to have women who could make items of rare beauty.

All this beautiful work makes me glad I live here and now. I have never been handy with anything but books:-)
