Edit Blog Post

As promised, I will write a blog. I will begin with the cuisine of the East, starting with Shanghai. I have many pictures, so let the mouth watering begin! I have to say real Chinese food is the best food I've ever eaten. I'm afraid I like it better than Tex-Mex, which I thought I would never say. I fear that when I return to the states I won't enjoy the food after being spoiled on delicious, healthy, inexpensive Chinese food. I'm sure I'll manage though 😊

The vegetables in China are so flavorful! The tomatoes rival my Grandpa's garden variety (I am safe saying that here because he doesn't have the internet!).

He literally rocks it: he plays Arabic pop music that you can hear a block away. Abdula has the best Yángròu (mutton/ sheep) I've had in all of China. I don't bother eating it anywhere else!

Yángròu is best when served Fēicháng là (very spicy) with nan bread. It' so delicious- tender, juicy, and flavorful! It satisfies a Texan's need for barbecue!

They are grilled over an open flame then drizzled with a garlic oil sauce. They are freshly shucked in the ally. Shellfish is one of the more expensive street meals in Shanghai: each oyster on the half shell costs 5RMB (~ $0.75)

My boyfriend would happily live off of Buffalo wings. We were very disappointed that this restaurant serves what Americans clip and throw away.

There are 2 purposes I can identify: The 1st is obvious, a mobile business. The 2nd is the result of local ordinances in Shanghai that ban these kinds of food operations. So when the cops show up this grill can disappear quickly into the darkness.

Lamb seasoned with cumin and chili, topped with onion and lettuce then wrapped in a tortilla thin flat bread. The Chinese equivalent to a taco- delicious!

Indian Food!

In new york, there was actually a restaurant for Chinese-style Indian food. All your food pictures look amazing :). Except maybe the roasted chicken bits. Have you tried them?

Only the chicken hearts. They're good- very rich chicken flavor.
