Boating away from Rosario
On our way across the river to the canals Well a week has gone by and the feeling of "new" is starting to wear off. I'm finding there to be less and less to do in Rosario. God knows that I need to catch a futbol game at some point. After all, we have two rival teams within a half hours walking distance each from where I live. Not to mention practically everyone here is a fan of one team or another. Too bad they're not that in to the British Premier League... If that was the case I might just simply settle down and stay here! However, I have been able to watch my team from England play a couple times on the tube down here on one of the many soccer oriented channels. That has been really special for me.
Speaking of Argentine television, I've seen many different American movies with either Spanish Dubbed or Spanish subtitles. They're all movies from the 90's, but I've been able to entertain myself in the evening by watching them and convincing myself that I'm learning Spanish at the same time. If only... So far I've seen Terminator, Terminator 2 and Bedazzled, all of which I've never seen before. So, good
Further away
Rosario fading into the distance as we get closer to the canals. times there.
Most of the group is taking advantage of the four day weekend (due to Easter) by going to Mendoza. I'm not as I would like to go to either the cathedral or the local church down the road from me to see how they celebrate Easter here, the old-school way. Though I am considering taking a day or two, maybe Thursday and/or Friday to explore the city of Santa Fe, which is not to far from Rosario. I'm absolutely considering this... However, later we also want to, as a group, rent a bunch of kayaks and explore the far end of the Rio Parana. We took a boat ride on Saturday across the river and through some natural canals where a lot of people have set up small weekend and fishing houses (pictures attached).
So many things to see and do still. I want to get out of country at some point. Got three months to do it. Luckily there are three countries that I want to visit, so I may just make it a country a month if possible. Chile, Paraguay, and Uruguay, LOOK OUT! Here I come!
The school I'm studying in is
Submerged Trees
Trees leading back to a house (can't see it from here) very very small. There are 5 school rooms, two larger ones (holds 20 students each) on the bottom floor and 3 smaller ones (hold about 7 - 10 students each) upstairs. There is a nice little patio in the center of the building and there is also a kitchen. What the kitchen is ever used for I don't know. It's a very comfortable place to study at even though on the outside, it looks nothing at all like a school.
Anyway, that's all I got for now. Missing my family and friends of course. Hope to see you "soon", but not too soon 😉
Regards from Rosario,
Erik

I really like the pictures of your school! It looks open and airy and like a nice place to spend your day.
