Aww i have to say we were both sad to leave thailand, there were lots of reason that we liked it there, not the smell of course but i suppose you just get used to it. It was few hours drive to the boader town where we stayed one night then a 12 hour bus trip the next day through Laos, the roads are so bad here and there is a lot of poverty. The place that we are staying is nice, far from the centre but comfortable bed and a hot shower so am not complaining. Today we got up REALLY early, half 5 in the morning to watch this religious ceremony that local people do every morning. The monks from all the temples come and people offer them food. We thought we could just sit and watch but we ended up taking part. It was a really good experience. Later we hired bikes and rode around the city, it has been a quite relaxing day, we stopped in a cafe and read our books all afternoon. I am reading the kite runner and hannah is reading the best a man can get. She was laughing so much and i was fighting back the tears. Where we were sat there were these really big red ants one of them bit hannah and was climbing up her top so i was hitting it with my book, we were a funny sight. We had a difficult time finding the place that we renting the bikes from again but in the end we found it and everything was fine. Tomorrow we are getting a 9hour bus down to the capital... another long journey, hopefully hannah wont get travel sick.
