Up early enough so we could get through a busy day. We started off at the Dixie factory outlets which wasnt that exciting really compared to our DFO. All the stores had like one of everything on racks and the stuff was many seasons ago. So we didnt hang around.
Gary dropped myself, Benn and Carolyn off at the subway to catch a train into Toronto city. We had driven around town several times but had actually walked around. So we got out and a big shopping mall and then headed out into the blistery cold. It was the coldest day so far in Toronto. We walked round looking at the shops (it was much more expensive here than in the US) and then we walked into the times square of Toronto with all the lights and ads. There was a protest on which Carolyn said was about the governemnt as they had taken an extended holiday all the people were telling them to go back to work. So after getting a banner and having a little chant I got over it and kept walking. We went back into the mall and had lunch at a food court. I ate
from 'Harvey's'. We then dropped off at Old Navy where I bought Chels and Tiggy pick rain jackets! We then caught the sub and train back to Gary's place and the bus stops right out the front.
So we went in and got out ski kit on as we were going SNOWBOARDINGGGGGGGGGG! It was soo cool. We drove like 5 minutes from their house and there we have it a snow hill! It was their old tip which had been filled in and they make fake snow on the hill and put a lift there and there you have it- a snow hill! Its like going to endeavour hills big heatherton rd hill and putting snow on it with a lift. Its right in the middle of all the suburbs and parkland. Soooooooo cool. It was $30 for 2 hour lift pass and snowboard and boot hire. You cannot complain about that! So we were really excited and went up the lift which actually was an elevator. It was heated and made of rubber so your snow board just gripped to it. I had been snowboarding in August so I still remembered and was fairly confident. Benn hadnt been
for a while but soon learnt the ropes. I loved it going down the slopes. Even though the ones Im used are about 4 times as long it was soo cool to drive 5 minutes and pay $30 and we were snowboarding! We stayed for about and hour and a half and did about 10 runs, a few races and see how could get the furthest back to the lift.
We left and headed back to the house to get changed to go to the Lacrosse. Headed back to the air Canada Center and bought a round of hot dogs for sinner. Went and sat in our seats which were the same bay but about 10 rows further back. The field wasnt as big as I was expected. It was good to watch the game, pick up the rules and observe their tactics. The home team Toronto Rock were killing the Rockchester team. So I enjoyed this as I hadnt seen Lacrosse before and I teach it at school. They have a offence and defence team so whenever there is a turnover a completely new team runs on to play. There was a bit of biff too and many
players were sent off so the team played with one less for 2 minutes. The Rock ended up thumping them 17 to 3. Went back home and packed up for our last sleep in Toronto. Some things we have observed is softdrink is not soda like in the US but pop and the toilet is not restroom as in US but washroom.
