The next day we went on to Khajuraho, which was pretty close (only an hour and a half drive). Stayed in a sumptuous new resort, with swimming pool sunlounges etc etc...and spoiled myself re;laxing poolside and reading for a few hours. The village is very famous for its world heritage listed temples...and these were a real pleasure to visit. We went early in the morning, and there were very few tourists, and very little hassling. The temples were obviously maintained by some funding, because they were one of the very few (other than the Taj, Khumalgarh Fort and a few others hat were very well mainained with gardens around them. The temples have erotic carvings a la the Kama Sutra (you may see a few positions if you look at the detail closely!)
