Sonia at MASP
Museu Arte Sao Paulo I forgot, I made a weekend trip to Sao Paulo. It was because I was homesick and dying to see some Asian people. These are not my pics, thanks to Sonia for them!
Sao Paulo is like the NYC of Brazil. Metropolitan and chic.
The largest Japanese community outside of Japan is located in the Liberdade district. Along with them are Chinese and Koreans. The second night there, Sonia and I ate at a buffet, and the whole restaurant was filled with Chinese people, my guess, a lot of Taiwanese people, since they were speaking Mandarin. Anyway, it was so bizarre, I thought I was back in China!! hahaha.
Lots of different cultural things, museums, and shops and parks. Very lively place. Lots of graffiti art. We didn't even check out the square with the cathedral. Oh well. On the last day, I got really ill. But it was an amazing time, away from Bahia. There were much fewer Afro-Brazilians. A lot more Asian people. The highrises, cars, everything was so chic. The difference between Sao Paulo and Salvador was quite pronounce.
Anyway, enjoy these pics!
