Hanging at the Cabo Cantina
We headed south with friends, Chassen and John...the trip was sure to be interesting if nothing else. Neither of them have left the country, both are single, ready to mingle, and excited to take on Cabo.

The resort was incredible. I had no idea what we were in for and it wound up being perfect. The boys each got their own bed and a private bath. There was a living space with a full kitchen. Alex and I had a huge master bedroom & a private bathroom with jacuzzi. Our room, their room, and the living space all had an ocean view with sliding glass doors to access the patio.

There were a couple of padded lounge chairs on the patio. Chassen and John slept out there a couple of times.

Where we were staying, you cannot access the ocean. There are random waves that come in and the current will sweep you out. They have warning signs and they even have someone patrolling the area. There were three or four huge pools though so it's not like you were missing much. The pools had a bar that you could swim up to....try to top that, Ocean.

Chassen & John

The first night, Chassen and John were in serious party mode. We were exhausted and just prayed they didn't get us kicked out. They witnessed a minor girl being served who puked her guts out all over the upscale bar.

I wish I had updated sooner....the trip is a bit of a haze now. The pictures pretty much sum everything up. We went shopping. The boys went on a fishing trip for the day. They caught a Marlin and....Mahi? Something? They didn't take the huge one home with them. It was the end of our trip and we wouldn't have any way of eating or storing it without it going bad. The resort took half of the fish that they did bring home and prepared it for us. Doesn't get any fresher then that. Chassen and I took turns cooking the other half of the fish that we kept to prepare ourselves.

We went on a journey to find a store and gather supplies for the week. With the full kitchen and four of us, it made a lot more sense to stock up on goods to eat through the week so we weren't eating out every meal. It was hard not to eat out though....fresh guacamole alone is reason enough to go out.

I had more than enough boy time for the week and passed on the fishing trip. Got a pedicure, read, worked on Salon Breathe's bridal menu, napped. My perfect day.

We went into town and checked out the night scene. There was a free shuttle into town and we could grab a cab for $10 back to our place. That was great. We went to Squid Roe.....party central. The staff runs around in Santa hats and occasionally go on strike. They march out with signs, go out on the streets and pull people in. They have a HUGE staff so it was quite a scene.

The Cabo Cantina, Sammy Hagar's joint, was a lot of fun. There were live bands, great staff, and friendly customers. The bar tenders, I couldn't understand what they wanted from me...they kept telling me to come on their side of the bar. I was like, "uhh...you want me to climb over the bar?" Very confused. Then one of the guys signals for me to follow him and he walked around to the entrance and took me

He tries to ruin my pictures by getting so close the camera can't focus, but his plan was foiled and I got an awesome picture of him.
back there to get a picture with them. It's an excellent marketing idea. Really fun staff, get the picture with the customer that you know they're going to post online and talk about how awesome the bar was.

While we were there we saw that Chad, the lead singer of Nickelback, was hanging out in a VIP section. I thought it was cool to see someone famous who just happens to be there at the same time as us. The guys on the other hand were like, "He sucks," but in different words.

Much like we have free wine tasting all over the state, they have free tequila tasting. I was surprised how good some of them were. There's a pomegranate tequila, vanilla tequila, and I know it probably sounds awful, but they were very yummy. The stuff I really liked was $90 for a bottle. I passed.

Over all it was a fun trip. Everyone came out unharmed. We didn't get kicked out. Nobody got the Swine Flu.
