Well we have arrived in Melbourne for what is possible the shortest visit every to Oz, we are here fore 1.5 days on our way to NZ.

Hong Kong was a very vibrant place with lots of different architecture and parks. We were staying in Kowloon with a hotel room overlooking the amazing harbour views of HK Island and its many skyscrapers of the finance district. First night was spent exploring the night markets of Mong Kok with their wide variety of cuisines. We ate spiced hairy crab which was laced with amazingly hot chillies but Lisa turned her nose up at the chickens feet.

The following day I did my haggling bit and bought a camera (see attached photos for proof), WRT price I found the chinese always like to round up where as I was trying to round down. We then spent the remainder of the day hiking around HK Island following the "century of architecture" walk. This took us past some of the oldest colonial buildings in Hong Kong park to some of the very latest structures such as the Bank of China tower. A lot of the older buildings have interesting pasts particularly during the war years where they were inhabited by the Japanes troops.

Also took the tram up to Victoria Peak to get a good view of HK Island and also Kowloon on the mainland, once you get passed yet another set of bag shops the views are actually quite spectacular. Lisa got festive with a large borble and there was piped jingle bells music everywhere

All in all a flying visit to Hong Kong but we enjoyed it a lot more then we expected to! Onwards now to NZ (via Oz obviously)

The feet of chicken
Disappointed to hear about the lack of chicken foot consumption, but loving the name Mong Kok being dropped in to the blog. Carry on having fun! Helen
