From Hotel roof
This morning I had the joy of trying to find my way around in a very small Indian airport. YIKES!! What a mess! There was a huge group of people going to Dubai, I think on a religious trip. There were no gates so once you got thru security everyone just sat around until the plane loaded. But I made it safely here. It is about an hour flight from Jaipur.

So far Udaipur is the cleanest city I've been to here. It also seems to have fewer beggars. The main industry is tourism. I actually feel like I could leave the hotel and wander around on my own. I haven't even thought of trying that in any of the other places I've been to.

My guide has a small Internet cafe, so I am using it now to log on.

My hotel, The Tiger, is okay. Not great, but okay...clean. I hope it has hot water!!

Today we went to a Hindu temple. There are over 30 million hindu gods. This is about the 3rd temple I've visited. I'm getting to know the main gods. The religion and philosophy are so different from anything I've experienced.

Udaipur City Palace.
It is fascinating. In many ways Hinduism seems to be ingrained into the day-to-day lives of people here. There isn't one day to go worship (like Sunday). Instead, you go to the temples whenever you need to. Each day of the week honors a different god.

After the temple we went to the Palace. My guide if very knowledgable about the history of Rajastan and Udaipur. The Palace is the biggest one in Rajastan. Now part of it is still housing the Majarana, part is a museum and part is for textiles and stores. It really was big, also it had lots of stairs, so I got a bit of a workout in too.

We did stop at a shop for textiles..and of course I bought some things.

Tomorrow we will finish the city tour and go on a boatride.

boatride
How was the boat ride? I am suppose to have the last chemo the Friday after Thanksgiving. I can't wait. The side effects are getting worse. Everything else here is the same. I hope you are having a great time. Virginia
