Hi!
It's our first full day in Vientiane and it's another scorcher! The weather has been really hot these last few days and we're starting to want to just stay in places with air-con!
Our room isn't like that though, we're paying a measly 45,000 kip a night where most places seem to be charging a minimum of 100,000k, but we are sharing a bathroom with the floor, and it has a very temperamental shower and door that doesn't quite close. Still, it's cheap!
Today we started the day at 7ish to get down to the embassy to get our free 60 day Thai visa. Off to the National Museum in a bit and then book our bus down to Ko Tao (S. Thailand) for diving.

Exchange rate
To give you an idea of the cost, I saw in the paper today that the British pound is at about 14,000 kip, we're probably getting closer to 12,000 after exchange rates and ATM withdrawl fees.
