Hi!
Well, 2 days of slow boat along the Mekong river on top of best part of a day on a minibus have taken me to Luang Prabang here in Laos.
The trip was good although the boat was a little crowded, resulting in the terrible (and frequent) occurrence of the bar running dry. Fortunately they could pull over at the local villages to prevent the mutinous overtones of the passengers coming to anything!
The couple of days before were quite good as well, hired a car and drove to the Tiger Kingdom and played with the tigers, then drove along the Highway 1095 to Pai. I only had the evening in Pai before having to turn around and come back to get the boat but they had the 2nd November festival parade. The drive itself was the best bit though, if anyone has seen the videos of me driving in the Atlas Mountains in Morocco it was like that but twistier and jungle instead of desert!
We're off to Vang Vieng this afternoon to do the much discussed tubing down the river Nam Song (I think). Overall life is good!
Pictures should follow at some
point, I keep forgetting the camera wire!
