not a very good shot..
Hola!

So I caught the Intercape bus at 6am from Cape town and many hours and gorgeous scenery later I arrived in Wilderness (well there is no bus that goes there so i had to get off in George and get a taxi..). The weather was beautiful and I stayed in a little backpackers right by the beach. My balcony had the most amazing view and the first time I looked out there were 4 southern right whales basking and playing in the sun right near the beach, brilliant!
If anyone is a birdgeek like myself they should go to Wilderness! The birds are so many and they are beautiful! I did a few trails and met a lot of old people...of course forgot my binoculars in the backpackers..but it was a good day or two. Had a long stroll on the beach and hung out in the hammock, life is GOOD!

From there i went to Storms River village. No one spoke to me on the backpacker bus because i was knitting...
I am staying in a lovely little backpackers called Dijembe. Its in the middle of nowhere and surrounded by indigenous forest. I met some german that drove me to the Tsitsikamma National Park to see Storms River Mouth. Its a fantastic setting for a river to start its journey inland and there is a suspension bridge over it. Scenic, scenic, scenic!

The Germans, a south african dude and myself did the first part onf the famous Otter trail. It was quite a hard hike up and down along the beach to a waterfall. We saw whales and Dassies and baby Dassies - so cuuute! The flowers and forest are gorgeous and the roaring waves are just stunning!

Of course we then faced a dilemma...the Germans left us and none of myself and the south african dude had a car. We thought it would be a good idea to walk back. We climbed a mountain and came to a lookout point with mind blowing views and then walked through amazing forests for what felt like a whole day..but we made it back before dark. So another day of more than 6 hours walking, we really deserved a beer by the open fire coming back! This time I remembered the binoculars and they came in well handy for the whales and some rare bird spottings!

I have decided to not do the bungy here but tomorrow I will take on a bit of horse riding instead.
This place is lovely and the staff in the backpackers are great, dont really want to leave!

Ciao
