I <3 the Gold Coast :D

Had SUCH an awesome time there, totally loved it. Missed chilling with friends and partying, you can't go too long without it!!

So on Wed 5th, got up at 5:30am to go to Fraser Island!! Awesome stuff. Almost slept in the car on the way to the barge, haha. Nice views up top on the barge, when we got over headed to Lake McKenzie, gorgeous sand!! Saw Cathedral Beach, walked up Eli Creek, swam in the Champegne Pools (in the rain, btw) :p and somewhere else educational, can't remember where. Drove from Indian Head to Kingfisher Point, along the beach and 4x4-ing on the awful sand hilly roads, was fantastic, didn't get beached :D met a really nice couple on the barge on the way there from England, and saw them again later, they only got beached once :p saw someone worming, was quite kool, and checked out the shipwreck. Saw the resorty place, and hoyed a magnum and back in a smaller barge. Lovely day!! Massive Island. Nearly fell asleep (again) on the way back, and I'm pretty sure Ellie and everyone were round again, too tired to remember.

Thurs 6th - GOLD COAST BABY, YEA!! Went for my morning run, and Debbie picked me up and we drove down, via Maybourgh?! and had lunch and then stopped at the dfo and I bought 2 pairs of jeans (red and white) and a red pair of shoes and got free sunnies, haha. Love it. Love JayJays, gutted they only have it in Oz-land I think!! Went to Ros's, was awesome to see Ros and Daniel and Amy again (she came round for dinner) and we looked at photos and bungee dvd's and suchlike. Then, we went out!! Met Sophie, one of their friends, and Richard (rich) and Marty. Went to see a male stripper, was hilarious, and went to Titanium and Bedroom and somewhere else. Really good night. Left at 5:30am :p

Fri 7th - got up pretty late, and went up Q1, the world's tallest residential building!! Pretty damn kool, nice cafe up top, and stunning views of the Gold Coast. Me and Daniel and Ros took photies, then hoyed it down and dropped off Ros and me and Dan went to the beach!! Swam/jumped in the cold water, though for me it wasn't that cold after SA :p good fun and chat, then met up with his bro Matt for cake. Wandered around and looked in a $10 CD shop where the CD's weren't actually $10, shocking. Went up to see Matt and his Dad Peter in their solociting office, pretty kool. Went back to shower and then Amy came round and we went to the Outback Spectacular show - damn good, actually!! Horses and acrobatics and farmyard animals and a helicopter and a storyline - very cheesy, but good. Good food too :D and ended up next to a Scottish family!! Dan got to go in to the arena for a "boat race" too funny, he fell over at the end but our team still won (though lost overall, grr) it was so funny, the guitarist guy at the start saw we were the only like youngish people there by ourselves, and totally played with us, hilarious. Crazy lady trying to get me and Amy to line-dance, then Daniel, too good. The photos we got taken were fabulous :p so went back and chatted to Ros then went to Max Brenners :D awesome choc place I discovered in SIngapore, strawberry and banana dip, YEA!! Then went up to some place to see a gorgeous view of the Gold Coast at night (tummy-flipping hill) and saw Amy's in the dark. Went home and talked to Jemjar/Roy on skype for ages :D

Sat 8th - got up later than planned (again) and went to the beach again with Dan, no swimming this time though, just paddling :p went to another one was well, nice wee walk and running up sand-dunes. Went for lunch at the surf-club with Ros, Matt and a late Amy, and had a massi calamari salad (who'd have known salads could be so big!!) then went shopping the Amy, great fun!! Dan had to go to Uni to finihs sound stuff. Bought underwear and pressies, and then went to Bond (their Uni) to check it out and Dan's recording stuff - was fun, they were re-creating sounds from Panic Room. Went back after seeing some of the campus, and watched most of Panic Room, crap ending!! Went out for dinner with Debbie and 2 of her softball mates to a members only place, was fun, food-court reminded me of S'pore!! Then the infamous night out... let's just say I don't remember what I did, but enough to believe what I was told :p too good.

Sun 9th - found painkillers that worked a treat when I woke up :p hoyed brekkie then went with Ros to find better cough medicine for her, and had a nice wrap - felt very fragile. Went back for afternoon tea with Daniel and Amy, said bye to them, sad, but I'll see them again soon!! Amy insisted on giving me my $20 back, even though it wasn't actually mine, grr. Saw the lady next door's Harley Davidson, too good!! Ros drove me to Rick&Vikki's after I packed - I hate hungover car journeys with a passion, you feel like you're going to die. Anyway, good chat, then got there and met my littlest cousin Finn, dead cute and smiley, and loved being thrown around!! Said bye to Ros, and Debbie arrived all happy cuz her softball team had got bronze :D chatted lots, and ordered take-away, chowed and drank and chatted more, then sleep!! Was really nice to see Rick&Vic again, not seen them since I was like 7? And me and Daniel and Amy just get on so well, will never, ever forget this visit 😊

Mon 10th - got up nice and early for a successful run :D nice and hilly!! After pancakes and strawberries and blueberries :D me and Debz hoyed it to Australia Zoo, Steve Irwin's project, it was awesome!! You'll see the photos when they go up, but saw kangeroos and koalas (again) :p massi tortoises, elephants being washed, otters (dead cute) dingos, the awesome croc show (the handler hadn't handled that particular croc in 18 months and was visibly nervous, seriously thought something bad was gunna happen to her) and saw lots of other animals. Met the couple I met on Fraser Island in the reptile house!! Debz had found a designated smoking point at this point :p and hoyed it back to Bris-vegas!! Went straight to Belinda's for dinner, Cathy and Roy came round too, was very nice, played pool with Jimmy and Lachlan and played guitar/drum hero too, was funny. Very nice meal, and stayed at Belinda's that night, chatted to Debs and Belinda for ages and watched lots of Sex and the City - totally miss it now!! :p I really like all the family out here, its just a shame they don't all get on with each other, and I often just don't know what to think. I wish they'd just talk to each other, communication is key dammit!! Ach well. Went to bed with the sweet sounds of Deb's ridiculously loud snoring coming from the other room :p

Tue 11th - got woken up with Ollie (Belinda's brown scary poodle) licking my face, reminded me of how much I hate dogs/animals (sometimes) in general :p got brekkie and Debs drove me back to Cathy's - got ready for the boat-trip!! Forgot my camera, but Belinda dropped it off, thankfully!! Drove to the jetty and hoyed out the boat, I drove :D went to pelican beach? and ran around, Bonnie (Cathy's dog) followed me, very cute. Went to Moon Point and Woody Island and had lunch, very nice. Walked up one of teh beaches. Drove out for a swim, more of a belly-flop in cuz it was only like 11ft and there was visible rocks on the bottom :p not fantastic!! But good fun anyway :p went back and I hoyed a shower after helping peel fish and suchlike :p went with Roy to the shops and I bought pressies for folk. Its Roy's birthday today, and Cathy was having folk over to celebrate/meet me, so we got strawberries and when we got back I cut them up and got ready and folk started arriving, I was totally showcased!! Melody (one of Cathy's friends) gave me some lovely picture books of Hervey Bay, totally kool!! She's Fijian, and her husband is originally Italian, and her 3 kids were all really nice, very different looking, Dante looked quite Chinese, Carlo very Italian, and Amelia just tanned!! Was lovely meeting some of Cathy's friends, they were all very interested in what I was up to. AAAnd, there was whipped scooshy cream!! :D:D:D anyway, went for a walk after everyone left cuz we all ate so much, I walked one of my running routes and looked at stars, will miss Oz-land, for sure!! Hoyed bed after writing a letter and the good ol' diary :D really good night, I think I managed to talk enough to everyone :p was funny, both Granny and Maw phoned during the evening!!

And today, Wed 12th - got up way later that planned, freezing cuz my duvet had fallen off - no running pour moi!! Hoyed brekkie and pakced quickly and we started the coastal drive to Brisbane to Boss&Cooks again, as my flight is at 9:15am tomorrow morning, ugh. Very nice, though I was falling asleep at points!! Stopped in a nice park in Tairo, and I drove some of the way, was kool, roads, v simialar to SA, but a bit slower :p its fun driving the 4X4, such suspension!! Went to King's beach, had a swim in the surf, was fun, but got a ridiculous amount of salt-water in my head, still feel ill from it!! Eventually got to Boss&Cooks (horrific traffic) and apparently there is soooooo many accidents on the way there, bad like!! So got to Boss&Cooks and it was totally raining, got in and hoyed a nice hot shower and biscuits and cheese and champers and chat and Amy had burnt me CD's :D so we listened to her beloved Whitlams (very good) and had dinner and I checked flight details and suchlike. Listened to a lot of music, showcasing all the good ol' Scottish music (Idlewild, YEA!!) :D

So NZ tomorrow... looking forward to it, something a bit different, only myself to worry about now :p xxxxx
