So we made it to Thailand where there beaches are beautiful and the ladyboys are out all night. We arrived in Bangkok on the 15th and stayed for one night in a beautiful air conditioned room. This was heaven because all the rooms in the Philippines were fan rooms with no TV's and lots of bugs. The next day we flew to Phuket where we stayed in a decent room on a busy street. Phuket is a very busy small town with massage shops and travel agencies on every block. The food in Thailand was much better and much cheaper than the Philippines. Thailand is a cool place to be, every night the streets are loaded with tourists and ladyboys and there is a crazy party everywhere you turn. They had a main street in Phuket which was loaded with people. Many of the bars in Thailand have girls who will literally drag you into the bar to get drinks. We had one of those incidents and we all (Jenna, Josh, Lee <-- guy we met, and his girlfriend) were laughing hysterically. Thailand is defiantly a party place but they do have many islands and places to relax. One of the highlights in Phuket was renting the scooter. We rented a scooter for 24 hours for the same price as a movie from blockbuster, 5 bucks. It was my first time driving a scooter and it was a little scary at first but once I got the hang of it Jenna and I cruised all around the town and we found three more beaches to enjoy.
After Phuket we took a ferry to Ko Phi Phi, which is an island about two hours off the coast. This island was beautiful and had a very crazy night life that we had not heard about. On Ko Phi Phi there was one small town which was full of bars, travel agencies, and dive shops. It was strange because Jenna and I were about the only Americans on the islands. Many of the people we met and saw were from Europe and Australia. We had an amazing snorkeling trip on Ko Phi Phi. We saw a couple of the smaller islands around Ko Phi Phi, we also got to snorkel in three different bays, and saw Maya Bay which was where the movie "The Beach" was filmed. Our last stop was the scariest of all, it was a place called Monkey Beach, which it was. There was a small beach with about 20 monkeys hanging out and the deal was that you go and hang out with the monkeys. This was fine until we ran out of pineapple and the monkeys wanted more. They chased almost everyone and even bit this one lady on the leg. We realized that they can't swim so we kept running in the ocean to escape. I have to say now I am more afraid of monkeys than sharks. On Ko Phi Phi there was a small hike which ended at a lookout point that showed basically the whole town. This was beautiful, they also posted a picture of what the town looked like after a tsunami hit. So you could compare the town now with a picture after the disaster.
Currently we are back on the mainland of Thailand on Krabi. Krabi is a nice quiet place it is very clean and we found a very nice hotel room for about $12. We went to the bar steet and were entertained by the crazy girls that worked there, playing pool, darts and connect four (which is a very popular bar game in Thailand)
We are on our way to Ko Samui, and the adventure continues. Thanks for the messages, we will keep in touch.
