So this is it! The point of no return; we dropped the bike off to James Cargo at Heathrow for shipping to Anchorage via Minniapolis and Chicago. For safety reasons the bike has to go with less than 2 litres of fuel, and nothing in the panniers. There is something very disconcerting about riding round the M25 with the range on the bike flashing ------ which is what it does after it drops below 1! The sat nav said still 6 miles to James Cargo, but we got there so all is well. Sitting in the wharehouse were a number of fellow travellers bikes including Paul's and Chris and Danielles already crated from their drop off in Manchester.

We had arranged to meet Max a fellow traveller at Heathrow as he was dropping his bike off at the same time and headed off for lunch in Hammersmith by the river. All very pleasent for us, although not so good for Max's partner Christine who is still working as we sunned ourselves next to the Thames. Still some-one has to be working I suppose?

What's Next....

Flying out Sunday 19th to Chicago
