Hi everyone
We really enjoyed exploring the Litchfield National Park for 3 days. Its about 120k south west of Darwin. We did day trips from Batchelor. We swam a couple of times each day in the lovely pools below the waterfalls, and did 2 4WD tracks, one to Tjaynera Falls had quite a deep water crossing, which was a test for our car (that doesn't have a snorkel), but "no worries", no leaks!
We came back to Howard Springs C.P. slightly further out of Darwin, but cheaper and quieter. Some of our friends were here (they left today for Kununurra). We have been to the very good Territory Wildlife Park, and Berry Springs, where we again floated downstream with our noodles to another big pool, another day we drove east to Fog Dam, a wetlands bird scantuary, with thousands of birds and some waterlillies too. Then we went on to Adelaide River nearby, and went on a Jumping Crocodiles boat trip. The big salt water crocks were amazing, jumping to get bait from a long pole.
Today we went back into the city, and watched the fish feeding at high tide. Lots of different varieties come in from the sea each
day.
Tomorrow we have haircuts. It's very hot here , have the airconditioner going frequently. I will update this and then we are off for another swim in the pool. On Wednesday we head to Kakadu.
Cheers lynne and Chris
