Having escaped the trappings of Bangkok, i started the second week by making my way up to Kanchanaburi and the banks of the River Kwai. Spent a glorious 3 days in Kanchanaburi. Took it easy in a Hammock on the Banks Kwai and went to visit the Tiger temple, where you get to stroke actual tigers. Got stared at by a Boar Pig, which was pretty scary, dont think he liked my hair. I also went elephant riding through the Jungle which was superb, nothing quite as comedy as sitting on an elephants head! Visited Hellfire pass and the WW2 galleries which are pretty good at putting life into perspective. Oh, met another Welsh as well, that makes 2, woo!

Made my way up to Damnoen Saduak and spent the morning floating around the floating market, eating fried Bannana and drinking Coconuts in the sun which was nice. I then headed back into Central Thailand and Pak Chong. Stayed at "Bobby's GuestHouse - German Management", and the German owner who i called Bobby for 3 days then found out his name is Mike, was cool. Pirate DVD's and excessive drinking encouraged. Spent a fantastic 2 days in Khao Yai National Park swimming in Springs, getting into underground Batcaves, marvelling at waterfalls and trekking for 6Km through the Jungle, complete with Leech socks. Saw some quality monkeys! We wanted to give them little sticks and make them start a monkey war, but it didnt happen. Our guide was superb, proper Ray Mears, spotting animals in the distance and knowing how to communicate with them. Spent 20 mins following Gibbins through the Jungle which was cool.

Said goodbye to Bobby (Mike) and headed to Ayuthaya, the oldest city in Thailand, apparently. Spent a day looking at the the very historical (getting a bit same same) ruins and ate some quality market food. Was going to head into Cambodia from here but the plan (what little of it there was) has been revised and will probably head North up to Chang Mai.

P.s - If there are any spelling mistakes in this its not my fault, the keyboard im using doesnt really have any letters on!

P.P.S Traying to upload photos onto this site is like trying to walk whilst dragging your face in Gravel - Slow, Paniful and ultimately gets you nowhere!!
