Hey, I thought it was time to give an update on life in Camboland…

Arrived back safe and sound from the USA tour two weeks ago. It’s always tricky to sum up such an event, with so many highs and lows and curve balls but all in all- dreams came true for many, we made history and it was especially exciting to see the overwhelming love and support Tiny Toones has in the USA.

Personally, it was a good Parenting 101 crash course for me… chaperoning 7 teenagers across 5 different states- what was I thinking? Haha

NYC was probably my personal favourite…walking down the streets where hiphop was birthed, catching those subways as seen on movies, eating soul food in Harlem, meeting Mark Echo- founder and CEO of Ecko Limited, and seeing the entire city lit up from the top of the Empire State Building.

Check out the tour blog www.tinytoonescambodia.com for photos etc…

Aside from that adventure...Just been trying to get back into the swing of things now…the inconveniences of this developing country and its culture has definitely been stretching and character building. The past two weeks, since I arrived back has been emotionally and spiritually tough. I got really homesick and had to reassure myself that I am in a good place. Sometimes I just dream of being able to hang out with friends at mission bay…or pig out on my mum’s cooking for just a day…actually, somedays I don’t even want to be here anymore to be honest…

But then I stare into the eyes of one of them kids here and know its because of them- to help fight for their future and give them a reason to believe in a better tomorrow. I've just got to stick out the rest of this season...

I’m learning to find balance and to take my time instead of stressing myself out. There are so many problems around here, and being so close to them makes you either turn a blind eye or become completely burdened with them. It makes it even more important to live by faith and not by sight. To seek the truth, to love the truth and believe the truth…

Today I was reminded of the 2 greatest ways to live-

“To love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength” and

“To love your neighbor as your love yourself”

So simple, yet so challenging at times…

Anyways, to end on a more positive note- here are some pics of the trip!

Oh and I somehow got sucked into this beatmaking thing by Peanut…(It’s my time out/ procrastination activity)- here’s the latest track Peanut and I produced featuring our 4 main MCs- the song is pretty much a “Bring it On- This is what we’ve got” song. Someone said it sounds like “Young and the Restless on Cocaine” haha

Lisa Your amazing. And i feel that tension of the hard, long and often thankless (in words) work, but knowing you are a part of something bigger. You Are! a part of something bigger, a great story of salvation. Thinking of you xoxo
