Hola mi amigos!

I´m just loving the diving here. It´s outstanding. Vida Marina: ¨Sea Life¨. The visability the other day was over 60ft that´s about 20m for the Europeans.

I´m becoming a standing joke on the boat-every day just after we´ve left the shop & the tanks are filled & on the boat, I´ve finally got everyone in the boat, the achors away & all the divers & students are kitted up, their gears stowed & the life jackets are on. . . . then I just exclaim with much gusto & relish: ¨another day in paradise¨ and all before 8:30 am ....who said I´m not a morning person?

Though now I´m only allowed to say most things in Spanish: ¨otro día en el paraíso¨. Because as Santiago says ¨hablo español es muy importante¨ ie speaking Spanish is very important. So not only am I learning to become a Dive Master, but I´m learning to Salsa & speak a little conversational Spanish on the way through.

We took a couple of videos of the last class as they graduated from a mixture of Open Water & Advanced Courses. Check them out on youtube! I´m the guy in the fluro lime green mask & Split-fins. Great fun was had by all & the Vida Marina you can see is....

Video 1:

Soft Coral
Princess Parrotfish (which of course was male)
Sand Diver which looks like a lizard or a wee alligator
Honeycomb Cowfish
Blackbar Soldierfish
Giant Pot Sponge (no idea what the latin name is)
Sand Eel
Baby Christy our trusty stallion that takes us from & to the dive sites
Playa Granate where we have our lunch & play with the dogs & kittens (the size of wee sausages)

Video 2:

French Angelfish
Great Barracuda
Brain Coral
Various Grunts (yellow & blue)
Yellowtail Snapper
Chap with the gay headgear is Santiago one of the Dive Instructors & Owner
Pot Sponge (no idea what the latin name is)
Sand Eel

I've taken a few shots of the dive shop Vida Marina where I spend most of my time when Dive Mastering. There's one of me in the big chair dealing with stuff on the computer & the bloody tanks I need to fill....yawn yawn.

And I had a wee haircut on my way to being completely baldy for a few days....well
I thought the mohawk was very fetching, though I didn't think it was really me...knocking on 40 & all that so it went after a few days & I went totally shaved. Well.... it is in the mid to late 30s here every day so it's approriate for the weather honest!!!

The final shots are of my place of abode...or habitacion in Espanol. La Casa De Felipe, there's my wee room & the private loo, with a shot of the hammock outside the door because too much work makes jack a dull boy & I need that for all the studing I'm doing for my Dive MAster Exams. The last shot is of Patricks kitchen. This is a must if visiting Taganga, he's Dutch, but we won't hold that against him. An outstanding chef & clearly the reason why I've stayed so long at this hostel!!! Fillet Mignon for about 12 NZ$s yummy & a huge portion of chicken satay for NZ$10....wow!

Okay time for bed. Oh & don´t be a stranger I know it looks like I´m chokka busy but I´d love to hear from you & what´s happening in your world, either via skype marty_bennett on email marty.bennett@vodafone.net.nz or via txt +573184395033.

Ciao
Marty
