Today we took a walking tour of Berlin. Almost 8 hrs all up from the time we left the hotel Ambassador till we walked back. Great informative tour. The tour guide covered themes of Prussian, Imperial,Nazi, Cold War and 21st century Berlin all in 4 hours.
We saw what remains of the Berlin wall. We stood on the site of the bunker where Hitler killed himself. We visited Checkpoint Charlie. We saw many museums. We visited the Memorial to the murdered Jews of Europe. We walked beneath the Brandenburg gate across the Death strip in the Pariser Platz. we saw the famous window of the hotel from which Michael Jackson hung the baby. We visited the scene of the famous Nazi Bookburning. So much history...the good and the not-so-good.
A very thought-provoking day and very educational. Can't wait to read some more about this city's history when we get home, only 8 days from now.

Checkpoint Charlie
Hi Pete and Neet, Did you got the Russians stamps in your passport at checkpoint Charlie? Very impressive the Jews memorial. Have fun. Hennie
