I arrived in Prague refreshed after a lazy three days in Vienna, and ready to hit the town. I had to depart from the Euro and move to Czech currency. Prague isnt as cheap as it once was, but its still quite a bit cheaper than. Accomodation can still be pretty cheap as well. I stayed in a great hostel, and met several Americans including a couple of girls from Stephen F Austin college in Texas. I had my first run in with rain and bad weather since Edinburgh, but it didnt dampen the festivities any. Most of the time was spent walking (of course). Not all the sights are as centrally located in Prague as they are in other cities. You have to criss cross by metro from one sight to another. But the food and drinks were ridiculously cheap. We even had a Mexican Food place right next door to my hostel, and it actually wasnt too bad. I also did a little bit of shopping, replacing some of my worn out clothes with new gear for the warmer climates of India and Thailand. Bought some strap shoe sandals. I also found a used book store with a nice assortment of english books and loaded up on books, adding a good 7-10 lbs. to my pack by my estimation. I just wanted to stock up in case its a while before I run across my next bookstore with English novels. Being without books is unimaginable, especially when you have a 36 hour train ride in a few days.
