We're heeeeere! After a long flight on United, I was starved. Our San Fran to JFK leg was a cashless, complimentary-foodless plane. To add insult to injury, Dave sat 2 rows back and secretly gobbled my airport-bought chicken ceasar sandwich before I had a chance to unbuckle my seatbelt and roam the cabin.

Needless to say, first stop in Manhattan was a midnight bagel snack at our local deli where the friendly owner refused my money. "In my country, a woman never pays for a man," he said. I LOVE THIS COUNTRY!!!

It's now midday, Day 1 and we're off to purchase cell-phones. We'll expect loads of welcome texts as soon as we post our new numbers.

Penny.

What a schamozzle!!

13 hours on a plane is no fun. Exit seats a go go (thought they screwed us there for a minute) I decided to try and stay awake for the whole thing (since my body clock is so warped from the last coupla months anyway) but the lack of decent movies and Penny's ease at sleeping upright hampered my attempt. True to my word, red-eyed we landed at SanFran (me of course sleepless)

US Customs gave us a run for our money though. Pen and I went through separate lines (since she is now a US resident) and me through the Visitors line which in my experience is ALWAYS fivefold longer. Not happy with my reason of escorting my girlfriend into America and not overstaying my tourist visa, they directed me to the secondary office where they asked me all sorts of questions about my purpose in America (pretty much down to the last visit to the bathroom) An hour or two later, passport stamped and legal, we were on our flight to the Big Apple!

Thanks again to all those who wished us well on our trip, all thoughts are greatly appreciated.

Cheers,
Dave

PS No Yankee accent yet!
