Dallas - Keepin it Pretentious

We just got done staying 3 nights and 2 days in Dallas with our friend Molly (the hostess with the mostest) and learned a few new things, but mostly that Dallas is the place to be for cougar hunting.
We started the trip off right by staying in a Wal-Mart parking lot in Richardson (just outside of Dallas). We woke up to the sound of loud-pitched screaming, the kind that would only come from a kid in a Wal-Mart. I think that is a very appropriate way to wake up if your in a Wal-Mart parking lot. The car proved to be very comfy, but cramped, especially for Matt. He had a few kinks in his neck the next day for me to work out (im such a great girlfriend) We managed to get about 6 hours of sleep, though, and didn’t spend money on lodging, so you cant complain about that!
We then made our way over to a local gym where we cleverly convinced the guy to let us have a free pass for the day because we were to be moving to the area soon and wanted to try out a few

gyms before we committed to anything. So we had a nice little workout and took some showers, then were off to my eye appointment. The doc put me on what we like to call the “A-Rod Steriod Plan.” Yes, Im taking steroids in my eye, and this kind of steroid comes highly recommended by A-Rod himself, so im expecting some great results 😉 Seriously, though, my eye is doing much better and im looking forward to getting of these drops all together very soon.
The things we noticed about Dallas is that it is HUGE, (a little too huge) the people there are horrible drivers (therefore a lot of accidents) and that the engineering of the roads is terrible (thus a lot of confused looks on matt and kati’s face and sparatic driving.)
We then went to go see the old Dallas Cowboys stadium, which was is pretty sad shape. Matt, however, was convinced that they were still giving tours, so after spending a good 30 minutes finding the tour office, we found out that the tours (little to my surprise) were no longer running. One of the guys who worked there did let us go inside and see what a torn up stadium looks like, and it was actually pretty sweet! After that, we just met up with Molly and had a quick dinner and decided to hang out that night and watch Borat, since he’s the king of all road trips. We then got to pass out on the most comfortable air-mattress bed of all time and had a great night’s sleep.
The next day was sight seeing day. We went to a museum that was made to look like an old western town from the 1840’s. It was pretty sweet! We stayed for a couple of hours exploring and enjoying the chickens and donkies. After some ice-cold root beer from a bartender from old Russia, a long talk with an Indian (of which we didn’t follow anything he said…) and lots of cool old buildings, we were ready to head out. We grabbed some lunch (courtesey of Brian Kenfield!!!) and then went off to meet with some of Molly’s friends for a little happy hour party.
Matt and I ended up playing scattergories with some new friends and had a great time. After that we went out to dinner to have some delicious fajitas. The service at this plac was horredus, but I really wanted to go there because the sign on the outside said that it had the “best fajitas in Dallas.” I will say they were very good, but after the waitress didn’t bring out half of our order of food, we had no silverware, and the lobster tail we ordered only had about 1/3rd the amount of lobster it should have, my excitement died down a little bit. The food did the trick though, so we were off to Uptown for some drinks with a friend of mine from the good ol days of horseback riding.
We went to a swanky lounge in Uptown called “Lotus” to meet up with Shannon. Ive never seen so many 40 year old cougars in my life. Shannon said that there were a lot of “30 thousand dollar millionares” in Dallas, so suddenly the big hair, big makeup and tiny clothes on these girls was making sense to me. We had a great time though, and I was very happy to see my old friend Shannon, we had plenty of reminiscing to do!
After that, we came home, passed out and are now on our way to AUSTIN!! Wooo! Weve already heard of more than enough stuff to do there, so hopefully we’ll be able to fit it all in and have some great blogging to do in a couple days.
Until then, See ya’ll Later!

YEEEE HAWWWW
First of all, my aunt and uncle live in Plano and I have been to that Wal-Mart!! That's cool you guys had fun in Dallas, it's a cool city. True what you say about rich and cougarish women, they are freaking everywhere. You didnt mention the "road titties" as my uncle calls them.. you know, the little bumps that seperate lanes rather than paint. I'll keep reading, have fun you two.
