After racking up 65 hours and over 1000 miles on buses in the last 2 weeks we decided to stay in the beach town of Mui Ne for some R&R but like Nha Trang we didn't end up staying long.

Mui Ne is billed as being a top end luxury resort with lots of swanky accommodation, and we knew finding a budget place to stay was going to be a challenge. We decided upon a place called the Sunshine beach resort which on the net was 7 quid a night... only when we arrived prices had changed to 26 quid!!... NEXT..

We ended up staying at quite a reasonable place called Hong Di which had the most unhappy staff (bearing in mind they LIVE on the beach - they should try blighty in the winter!) but the rooms were good value.

The beach is ok... sand is soft but not as white as what we found on Ko Samet in Thailand, and the water looked a little greyish. Lee later found out after his jog (yes jog!) that further up the beach there were 3 open sewers leading into the ocean (we didn't go in)

We don't have a lot to report about Mui Ne and as you can imagine lying on a beach all day.. not much gets done!

We did find a few nice eateries and had some good veggie food. On valentines night after tea we sat on the beach with a bottle of Dalat wine and watched the stars.. only for Michelle to wake up the next day and discover a mozzy had its own munch on her lovely toes.

Off to Saigon next (Ho Chi Minh City) on yet another bus.. yay!! and will be our penultimate stop in Vietnam.

It's short and sweet! but see you soon!

Lee and Michelle
