Days 71 - 74

Firstly, happy birthday Beath!!! We started the day with a trip to Puzzling World - where surprise surprise there were lots of puzzling things, like holograms, wonky rooms, a big maze and of course puzzles!! We then headed to a bungy site - the original bungy site at K-bridge. We had no real intention of doing one but got caught up in the moment and the next thing we knew we were harnessed up and standing on the edge of a 43 m platform over a river. Carly went first and jumped like a spaz, making life difficult for herself by doing the most twisting and turns out of anyone. She was happy enough though and really enjoyed it. Next Disco Stu jumped off like an absolute pro, flying through the air like an eagle. He got dunked in the river up to his ankles and got a big round of applause from some oap's Carly had befriended! We then boarded the big bad bus kitted out with t-shirts, dvds and photos. Suckers!! We arrived in queenstown, had a wander and one of the best burgers in the world and headed out for a night of drunkeness which included drinking cocktails out of teapots!! Random! It was a good night.

The next day we had a bit of a lie in and then Stuart went off for more thrill seeking action. He went down grade 2-4 rapids on a boogy board but got one of them wrong and knocked his knee on a rock after flying off a wave. Ouch!! It was still good fun though, if not a wee bit dangerous. Meanwhile Carly relaxed by the lake in the sun. Nice.

Not content with bungy jumping we awoke the next day and jumped on a bus headed to the canyon swing - a 109 metre swing into a canyon (hence the name). These New Zealanders didn't have much imagination when naming anything. We jumped backwards off a platform, free fell 60 m and swang through the canyon at 150 kph!! Very fun. Still not buzzed to the max, Stuart did another one - named the gimp boy - where he was suspended upside down into the canyon and cut loose, racing head first towards the rocks below. Mad!! We relaxed in the afternoon before going out for (quite) a few beers in a bar with a live band that were pretty decent.

Our final day in Queenstown was a very lazy one. Got up midday, went for a walk about, had a beautiful burger - the best in the land we'd say. Did some more walking and lazed about in the sun and that was about it. Too easy.
