We arrived in Koh Phangan after a really long bus/boat journey. I took loads of travel sickness tablets so slept the whole time!

We made the mistake of turning up at the full moon party without booking any accomodation in advance, so really struggled to find anywhere. We had to stay in a posh hotel the first night, then the night of the party we slept on a mattress on the floor in a room above a travel agents, along with 7 other men! There was only 7 mattresses and 9 of us, so some had to share. 4 of the lads were Irish though, so we had a good laugh.

The full moon party was pretty mad, lots of fire, fire poi, fire limbo, fire skipping! The music wasn't great though, and everyone was drinking way too much and throwing up everywhere. Don't think I would like to go again.

On Wednesday we got up early and got a taxi up to Cheloklum, which is in the North of the island, and it's amazing. We're in paradise!! We met my friend Wendy from uni and her boyfriend Ian, so we are staying in the resort with them, it's ace to see someone we know : ) This place is lovely, the beach is gorgeous, we have a swimming pool and the village of Cheloklum is a little fishing village, so I've been eating proper fresh fish and loving it.

Yesterday was an ace day, we hired a scooter for the day and explored the island, it was only 4 pounds for 24 hours, fuel is cheap here as well and the scooters hardly use any petrol. We drove to Haad Mae Haad, another beach further along which is lovely, saw the monkeys up the trees collecting coconuts and throwing them down to the people underneath. The beach there is so nice that we have decided to go and stay there for a few days next week. Drove to Haad Yao as well, which is also a nice beach but a bit busier. We saw loads of elephants, and went to the Chinese temple which had views over all the jungle. It was quite scary on the back of the scooter though because the roads are proper hilly and there are massive potholes in them!! And today I am very sunburnt and sore so I'm staying in the shade all day!

We are staying in Celoklum for one more night, then heading over to Haad Mae Haad tomorrow to stay there and do some snorkelling, then off to Ko Samui I think.
