These were used to punish naughty citizens...
After an Italian style breakfast (pastry and coffee), we hopped on the bus to Perugia. Despite the over cast from the rain, Perugia was beautiful. We went on a tour of the city- saw this very famous pastry shop, beautiful overlooks of the city, and this castle that was used back then to punish Perugians if they didn’t obey the laws. We also walked by the building where the trial of the American girl who was accused of murdering an Italian was being held at that time. After our tour, I had some time to buy chocolate and try some pastries, and of course I bought Baci, which is from Perugia (even though it was a little over priced.) It started pouring, so we spent the rest of the time at Perugia in this restaurant called ‘Al Mangiar Bene.’ Unfortunately, they weren’t serving pizza for the lunch menu, which was why we wanted to eat there, so we took a guess at what the item menus meant and luckily I got this delicious soup.

Upon returning back to Rome three hours later, my roommates were going to spend time with some people in our program so I decided to tag along. Apparently one of the guys in the program for the past few days thought my name was Glora and was saying how original my name was, etc. So I thought that was pretty entertaining… Imagine his surprise when I told him it was Laura.
