We both woke up early today for some strange reason - and Chris was very thirsty, needn’t explain why! As we were awake we got up, had breakfast and went into Hobart. As it was our last day here we had a bit of a walk around the City.
We walked through Elizabeth Mall, through the gardens where you can watch people play outdoor big chess! Then along the Castray Esplanade up through Princes Park and up to Battery Point. We walked down Kelly’s steps back onto Salamanca Place.
Geoff and Didi had told us about a really nice bakery so we went looking for that. Found it in Battery Point - delicious looking food. We got a savoury muffin and only one as it was huge! It was a nice hot day, around 30, so we went and sat in Princes Park for a bit. Then we walked down through Salamanca Square, around the Harbour of Sullivans Cove. We got to see jellyfish in the bay and also 2 Police boats escorting a boat back into harbour. We later found out that evening that an old man had gone missing and this was his boat! Scary!
We then drove to the Botanic Gardens, a beautiful landscape of gardens from Tas, Oz, NZ, Japan, and even Antarctica! Really nice spending a few hours walking around.
Got back to the campsite mid-afternoon, sorted out our bags as we were having to get up at 4am the next day.
In the evening we went to the private pool area, as we were staying 4 nights we got an hour for free! It was a small pool with a spa and jets - really relaxing!
