Now that I'm finally about over that stuff I caught on the plane (still a cough here and there), I'm getting some longish paddles in. I've been doing 30 milers the last few days - but that's with an empty kayak (minus gear and 30days food and water).

I saw my first bluebottle yesterday off Barrenjoey Head. Tried and tried to get a picture of it, but I guess I'm not much the photographer. (with that as a reminder - I moved the 'Stingose' to a much 'handier' place to grab when needed.
Actually, that's what these 'practice' paddles help with. During the paddles, I'm reminded of little things that need to be done - easier now than once underway. (finally got notch cut out of seat (tailbone), covered 'release pins' in paddles (grey tape) - so sand won't get in, switched Wildwasser sprayskirt for a 2nd Reeds Aquatherm - I really like them, hope they don't dissapoint in surf, etc.)

I'll be starting on Sunday, so there should be one more update (Saturday) before I take off.
