ok ok here we go.
tuesday we moved in and found some dinner at a small pizzeria, C'era una Volta.. Once Upon A Time. Very cute, very good. We took pictures in the kitchen. You are going to find yourself with a very fat kerry in four months. Wednesday we started orientation and learned that our school is about five minutes walking distance from our apartment and that the office of the organization we came with is right across the street and that our program directors who work there are completely wonderful. On the way to school we stop at a cute bar/cafe across the street and get cappuccino and then a pet store where we name the animals in the window. Giuseppe is gorgeous. he's one of those wrinkly dogs. well, puppies.
Anyway last night our whole group went to dinner in Trastevere (i say that i live in trastevere but we're sort of on the side.. i dont know what else to call it..) which was also very good but i swear ive barely had any protein in days. i'm aching for a good hunking slab of meat. we went grocery shopping for the basics but i havent had time to go to the market yet which is where i want to buy all of my fruits and vegetables. but we will be able to take a cooking class! our program directors put it on, only it is limited to 10 people so im going to have to slip in there.
after dinner we went to Goa, a club, because it was supposed to be one of the best in Rome. SO much fun. my whole apartment went together and one of my friends had a dance off! dance off. with an italian! seriously. mano a mano. it was awesome.
oh and i took my placement test this morning for italian aaaaand i need to study. a ton. i felt like a cave person trying to talk to the taxi driver last night. i was trying to get the taxi company's phone number and i feel like i was sort of clawing at my phone in an attempt to get the message across in what i imagine was a very cavewomen-like way. in retrospect i think a gentle pointing and an inquisitive look would have done the job just as well and i resolve here on to stop all horrible charades and rely completely on my broken italian no matter how selfconscious i get speaking it.
Tonight we are going to take the public bus to Piazza Venezia and then walk area the central area of Rome. We took a bus tour (private) last night before dinner.. probably should have mentioned it before.. and we saw most of the major sights , Colosseo, forum, etc. but i am very excited to walk around. and we are going to get gelato at one of the best places ever! so i hear..
Also there is a park across the street from our school which is perfect perfect perfect.
tomorrow more orientation and then classes monday! and yes i am really excited about them. the exclamation point was not a mistake. hooray fun classes! not only are they interesting subjects but i think i will feel a lot more confident with the italian i know once i'm in my class and actively studying it.
ciao for now, enjoy the pictures!

oh i just like commenting
1. i don't know what's up with italians and bidets, but sarah had one too. 2. your key is truly amazing. 3. kerry's hands will never be complete without an awkward amount of black nail polish on them.
