So now we are in Udaipur. There seems to be less and less time to spend at Internet cafes... 😊

Here is a quick recap: we are liking India more as we move further south. We really like Udaipur as it seems the least hassle to walk around.

On the way to Jodhpur we visited Pushkar which has a holy lake with a Hindu temple, after which we decided - no more temples as there are so many "priests" ready to take donations from you that we feel trapped!

We stop for a night at Bishnoi Village before entering Jodhpur which is like a breath of fresh air. We live in a hut made of cow dung 😊 you can only smell it for a minute after you enter it...

Jodhpur itself is ok... On the way to Udaipur we visit the Ranakpur temple and are absolutely awed by it. We think it should have the same standing as the Taj Mahal.

As for Udaipur - it is absolutely lovely with beautiful views across the lake, clean (by indian standards) streets and is very much walkable. We have excellent food at an Ambrai restaurant

Now we are off to catch our flight to Cochin, Kerala...

Enjoy the pictures!

We miss Udaipur so much, that we decided to add some more pictures from our last hour in this beautiful city. We got pictures of Alphie (the big black dog that would not harm a fly (maybe)), and Carol, but no Babu pictures! Carol and Babu are still finishing their new guesthouse "Hibiscus". Beautiful space and what great hosts! We did get some inside information on how Indian thinking works in this part of the world 😊 (thanks, Babu!). We are already thinking on how and when to come visiting again. I hope all the bathroom fixtures will be in place by that time... 😊

---------------------------------

Atvykom i Udaipura. Neturim daug laiko [raleisti prie interneto... 😊

Todel trumpai rasom. Indija vis labiau patinka aziuojant i pietus (ir miesteliai mazesni)

Vaziuojany i Jodhpur'a, uzvaziavom i Hindu sventa vieta, po kurios daugiau sventu nenorim matyti, mat visi i tave ziuri kaip i pinigu banka ir praso moketi uz niekus... 😞

Nakciai apsistojom Bishnoi kaimely, gyvenom trobelej pastatytoj is karves meslo 😊 Visai nieko - po minutes nebejauti kvapo. Visai nieko - kaimelis dykumoje, labai tylu. zmones gyvena labai primityviai...

Jodhpur'as nieko. Vaziuojant i Udaipur'a aplankem Ranakpur'o sventykla. musu nuomone ji lyginasi su Taj Mahal'u. Labai ispudinga.

Udaipuras - graziausiai ir draugiskiausias miestas. Svarus (pagal indiskus standartus), galima vaikscioti saugiai. Gatvytes labai siauros. Maistas kol kas geriausias...

Dabar ruosiames i aerouosta. Skrisim i Cochin'a, Kerala.

Iki

India through your eyes
so nice to see so many different places and sights in India that I did not see when I was there. Your planning and preparation really paid off, it seems. I'm glad you're having such a great time. It's cold and snowy in calgary. We spent an hour shovelling this morning in -24C. great time to be away. stay safe. Marise
