Hurrah, Open Water Scuba diving qualification done! So now if Barack wants to use my sandals on Iraq I can swim then in underwater (assuming they don't boil the Gulf before I get there).

Just spent the last 2 days out on the Reef, in the words of the yanks on out boat... "it was awesome, man!!!" It was good, no denying that the GBR is a special place. Some amazing fish, and the coral is so colourful it puts the Crown paints colour chart to shame.

Anyway, we are both alive an well, Rach has managed to burn her finger cooking (any excuse to get out of her married chores), but she is ok. Off to Cape Tribulation tomorrow before flying to Ayers Rock on Saturday (another early morning, this is so not a holiday as we are having to get up earlier than when we were at work, not that Rach can remeber what having a job is like).

Thanks for the messages. Rach is loving the Strictly updates.

Caught the rugby, Choosing to support Wales or Aus was a bit like choosing between Sea Cucumber or Pigeon Feet in our Cantonese Buffet in Hong Kong, however at least Wales winning gave me some peace on the boat. As for the Premiership, I have seen more games over the last month than I have ever watched in the UK. The Premiership is massive in Asia and Oz, I am loving watching it in the pub with a cool tinny.

Hope you are all well, and the weather has picked up in Blighty. By the look of the footy you have had some snow and fog. About 32 here today which was a damn fine excuse to get into the ocean.

Speak soon.

Wales
And so you should be supporting the only decent northern hemisphere team! Get a grip on your leak and sing the anthem as best as your southern-shandy swilling pitiful excuse for a voice will allow.
