Sooo... after a long flight: here we are in El Puerto de Nuestra Señora Santa Maria del Buen Aire, better known as Buenos Aires. 😊
I don´t think I´d remember for long the official/original name.

Today we dived into discovering the city. We don´t have much time as tomorrow we are leaving for Puerto Iguazù, so with full list of things to see in our heads we start straight at one of the best known places: La Boca. It took us over an hour and a half to get there as we deliberately took the city bus in place of the faster and more direct metro. The first challenge was getting on the bus as they bearly stop! They even have a little sticker on the door saying that you can jump on if it drives up to 5km/h. You should have seen the argentinian old ladies jumping on! To take the heat off! And what a great way of getting to see the city. It is incredibely hectic here... we´re glad neither of us have to drive! Just catching a glimps of the 16 lane Avenue 9 de Julio says it all.

La Boca is a fun little

They say the people were so poor here they used the left overs of the paint from the big ships from the nearby port - hence the colours.
city part - great colours and just a happy feel to it. But also full of turists. Great to snap few pictures and then move on. Just too busy... After visiting La Boca we then took a walk to Plaza de Mayo with the famous Casa Rosada. Nice piece of history here - but will not bore you out with it. 😊 We ended up in the middle of some kind of demonstration too: lots of people, armed police ... we have no idea what it was all about but all went peaceful so we just kept discovering the Puerto Madero, newly built port promenade with fancy restorants, and the rest of the city centre.

At the end of afternoon we couldn´t walk a step more so we went back to hostel to rest. Just a short break though as we are about to go for a famous argentinian steak here in the Palermo part of the city!

Enjoy the pics and talk to you soon!
