Greetings from sunny LA. The first 1/3 of my flying to start the trip went quite well. Of course, me being me, I got up at 4:00 am (after not really sleeping), caught the NY subway at 5:15 to get to the LIRR station. I'm still amazed at how many people ride the subway at ALL hours! And even more amazed by how many people were actually taking the Long Island Railroad at 6 am on a Saturday.
Check in went smoothly, as did security (for once I did not set off the metal detectors!). Flight took off on time and actually landed 1/2 hour early.
Flight was full, and I got a bit nervous when I saw the guy with the small baby coming towards the only empty seats, the ones next to me. But..... Bradyn was wonderful through out the flight (allowing for a 14 month old with an ear infection and some understandable fussiness. And the best part, I was wearing one of my Broadway Cares Equity fights Aids shirts, and it turns out the family had been in NYC because they are producing the new off Broadway musical Rock of Ages! We had a great time talking about shows and stuff (Adam Pascal in particular), so things went well.
Well, I've just gotten to the hotel, but haven't gone to my room yet because I saw the business center. So, I'm going to log this one off.
Don't expect anything earlier than Tuesday or Wednesday, since we land in Cairns Tuesday afternoon thier time!
G'day mates!
