Day off for everyone today...national holiday celebrating the equinox. The Japanese have lots of national holidays. I think there are about 5 random days off at Waseda.
Miraikan is the "Future Museum" The whole family went. Got to see all kinds of fancy Japanese robots and the most bizarre skyline ever. Most of it was in Japanese so I got to practice a ton of reading. We ate lunch over there, details on my food blog.
Afterwards we went to a bizzare resort/spa/bath. It was like a carnival plus relaxation, another crazy blend of Japanese culture. Upstairs were the hot baths, therapy pools, etc. Japanese call therapy pools walking in hot water of very irregular stones, meanwhile this therapy walk is outside and you can see one building, the irregularly shaped FujiTV office. The stones hurt quite a bit, I wasn't feeling the therapy. Downstairs was the carnival with performers (one guy played trombone and euphonium...maybe I'll take that up as a part time job). There were sushi and udon booths, ice cream, all kinds of goodies to eat. I had a curry ramen bowl for dinner and green tea soft serve ice cream. We wore yukatas (robes) during
Asimo
You know...that robot this whole thing. The baths were great, very relaxing. I passed out pretty quickly tonight.
