Edit Blog Post
Hi everyone, welcome to my travelblog! Sorry if you stumbled onto here expecting a full account of Cape Town - it will, in a week's time - but I'm still in England as I write this. I'm using this entry to test this blog website works. The hope is that this blog will be a way for me to document my travels, keep in touch with my friends and let parents know that I'll still alive!
I'm leaving on 8th October and will be traveling for around 6 months or however long my money runs out. The current plan is (note my skillful use of lists and bullet points!):
- 2 months in Africa, flying into Cape Town (9th October) and flying out of Johannesburg (11th December)
• 1 week in Cape Town;
• 25 days with an Acacia Africa overland tour (desert tracker), passing through Namibia, Botwana and Zambia, and ending in Johannesburg;
• I'm currently planning to spend the last week in Mozambique, apparently the beaches are awesome and it's a great learn to scuba dive.
- 1 month in Australia, flying into Perth (12th December) and flying out of Brisbane (10th January)
• 5 days in Perth, then flying to Ayers Rock (17th December);
• 2 days in Ayers Rock then flying to Melbourne (19th December);
• 20 days travelling from Melbourne to Brisbane, so that I'll be in Sydney for New Year's eve (very excited about that!).
- 1 month in New Zealand, flying into Christchurch (10th January) and flying out of Auckland (10th Feburary)
• No idea what I'm going to do, probably get on a bus tour, hopefully not one with a load of drunken teenagers.
- 2 months in South America, flying into Santiago Chile (10th Feburary, I cross the international date line, so I get an extra day - for free!) and flying out of Rio
• I want to do the Inca Trail, go to Buenos Aires and see the Iguazu Falls, and lots of other stuff.
