Bon VoyageBon VoyageBon Voyage

Us at the airport after a few tears (ok...just me)
Well, We made it safe and sound to the first leg of our trip. Japan is an amazing country so far, both in beauty, culture and people that we have seen. We cant believe how Tokyo, a city of 12 Million people can be so clean (even with no garbage cans around). The transit system is very good, however looking at a map is like looking at a bowl of noodles that are all different colours. It is massive, stretching all over the city. The hard part is trying to find the correct station.

We have seen many things already, none as impressive as the grounds for the Imperial Palace. It is amazing! The attention to detail is incredible in the landscaping. We even saw 4 guys on their hands and knees picking blades of grass off of a pebble path, as to not dusturb the pebbles.........It seems that everything the Japanese do, they make sure it is perfect.

The Tsukiji fish market was awsome as well. It is chaos. Thousands of people running around with deadfish everywhere! They ride around on small buggys and dont slow down for anything and dont stop for much. You really need to keep your head up. Then, once you navigate through the crazy market, you make it to the Auction. Tuna is up for grabs, and selling like crazy!! It sounds like Wall street, but with fish......huge dead fish, with hundreds of men at the ready to haul away the huge fish as soon as they are sold. We even got to eat some tuna cut off of a afish bought at the market. It was amazing.

Well, we need to go and see more things to write about.

Sayonara everyone!!!

Foot Massage (kindof)Foot Massage (kindof)
Foot Massage (kindof)

We found this podeum with all these bumps and a picture of feet...not being able to read Japanese, we are fairly confident they were to to work at the pressure points on your feet, so we walked on them (well, tried to walk on them). I cant say it was comfortable, but it truly felt very good after...gotta get me one of those at home, or I will just stick to the golf ball.

The Ginza district is known for the high end stores...Prada, Gucci, Tiffany. Within our budget, no problem.

We found it quite odd that Toyko has cows all around central Tokyo (Calgary's are better). Cameron...look closely, you will find your little friend in this one =).

Yes...it took Trevor back to the days of the Samurai.

You have to sign up for a special tour to go in, so this is as close as we get.

This is one of the the gates of the Imperial Palace. Trevor could not believe how heavy duty the doors were. They had wood about 1ft thick!
