This is mostly a short update to say "yes, I'm still alive." It's not that a lack of internet access has been preventing me from adding anything, but more that all my little time spent at computers has largely been devoted to finding another flight home. I have one booked now, still on the 17th and actually costing less than my original one. Yay! The only downside is that I won't visit quite as many countries since I'll be flying out of Germany instead of England now, but I'll live.

Speaking of countries, I've passed through Liechtenstein, spent a bunch of time in Switzerland, and briefly visited France since I last updated. Liechtenstein took about 10 minutes to go through and it was all spent on the train, so I can't say much about it. Here in Switzerland I've been to Luzern, Interlaken, hiked near the Eiger, and am now in Martigny in the SW corner of the country. Today it was rainy so I hopped on a train over the border to Chamonix, France, where I wandered around for a couple hours before coming back here. Tomorrow I'm going to head up to Zermatt, famous for being located at the foot of the Matterhorn. My Interrail pass is due to expire tomorrow night, so I'll probably just stay in Zermatt and do some hiking around that area most of next week rather than pay oodles of monies to go elsewhere.

I've got to end this one here, but I'll likely do a longer update (hopefully with photos!) on the weekend... it's supposed to rain so I won't have a whole lot else to do anyways.

Oh, and the cookie race is heating up! Austria, Switzerland, and France have all produced very yummy 8/10 and 9/10 cookies! More next time! =)

Yikes...
Sorry to here you had to go through that, and that you'll be missing out on a leg of your trip. It is insanely stressful to be in a situation like that, not knowing what the outcome will be. You handled it in aces. Ironically, you will miss out on the country that you know everyone speaks English, even though, chances are you might still not under stand them. "Oy! Bartah, dijoo loon mahbikeout tada Nancy-boi frum datflat?" Haha. I jest, but not really. >.>
