Day 4 The Cosmos Tour Begins...

We had a 5:30 start this morning, but even so, our travellers were all ready to go 15 minutes ahead of schedule.

Today we began our 16 day “Best of Europe” Cosmos Tour. We travelled by coach to Dover, where we hopped on the ferry to cross the channel into France. We spent most of the time on deck as we were blessed with another glorious day weather wise. Many were amazed by the ferry which had multiple cafes, shops, lounges and even a pinball parlour.

From Calais, we spent some hours on the bus travelling to Amsterdam. There are 31 travellers on our bus. There are actually 62 people on our tour, so Cosmos is running to tours in tandem using two coaches. The other travellers on our bus comprise two families with teenage children, and three couples. Two of the couples are Christian: one couple are from South Africa and the other are from Perth. The lady from Perth is actually an English teacher at a Christian school in Perth.

Our hotel in Amsterdam is quite flash and only a short distance from the centre of town. Some of the group caught a trolley into town to enjoy the Christmas lights and begin to explore the city of canals.

WELL HELLOOOOOOOOOOOOO to you all! Saying hi here from AMERICA! Good to see you're all enjoying the crazy cold, and I can very much sympathise with you. It's below freezing EVERY DAY here. INSANE! I hope nobodies missing home too much, and to you guys who know Ash [Anna, Zac, Derric ...] she says hi! I've been going to school with her for a few days too and it is SO DIFFERENT! Imagine this: 7 periods, from 8 am to 3 20 pm and only half an hour for lunch ... AND they don't have fish and chips here. Who doesn't have fish and chips!?!?! It's crazy.
