With the 1st of September drawing ever so near, I start to wonder if I have enough time to get things sorted out? You know what it’s like…. Ahh, plenty time left, I will do it tomorrow! Then as time goes by, you realise, hell, I better get my finger out of my ass and start to get stuff organised!

Anyway, Linda and I are looking forward to this trip as winter is approaching Sweden, it is time to move on and head for the heat.
It is strange to think that about 2 weeks ago, the coast line in Sweden was packed full of tourists and locals sucking up the sun and just loving life, shops were open, parties every night, life was good. Now the same places are like ghost towns, shops and pubs closed, beach empty and people not so happy anymore as it is another 9 months until the parties and the lazing around on the beach starts again. Me, I prefer when there is no one around, you can drive with no traffic, shops that are open are easy to run around without being pushed and standing in line waiting to pay.

So, we leave Gothenburg, Sweden on Monday the 1st of September 2008, we fly first to Munich, Germany then connect to Bangkok, Thailand and arrive there on the 2nd September 2008. from there we will stay in Bangkok for 2-3 days then head South. Our aim is to get to Ko Samui, where a friend, Shaun lives. We were neighbours in Durban, South Africa when we were very young and went to the same schools. I found him on Facebook after not hearing from him for years. He lives on this island with his wife and child. It will be good to see him again and catch up on old times.
From there, I guess we will go to the neighbouring islands and find out what else is worth visiting in the South before we head North again into Laos then Vietnam then Cambodia then back into Thailand. And last but not least, off to South Africa on the 15th December 2008 for 3 months.

That’s it for now, I guess. Guess I better start to get my stuff together and make sure we have everything we need for the trip.

Until next time…..
