first impressionsidaho*.
haha i know...but really who could have known what a wonderful place it is.
guiding was fun but the people and the place were what really made it.
quote of the summer: "we are all alone, but we are looking for people and places so we are not lost."
the west is full of beautiful, enticing places that make me want to shout that THIS is America. the "wild west" so silly that Texans consider themselves cowboys and country when texas is dominated by sprawling city. control that and then we can move on because we are losing our wild and our spirit becoming trapped by barbed wire and no public space.
Do not get me wrong Idaho has Damed up of the creative conscience as well (pun intended) and Montana is home to one of the largest super fund sites in the US; with wyoming, well I actually was not in Wyoming long enough to find fault, the Tetons and Badlands hold enough power.
What a wonderful intro to the Northwest this summer was and I hope that I will be able to experience them more for my self.
