Well Lizzie and I had our laziest week in San Pedro where we palnned to stay a few days and left after nearly a week. It is a picturesque little village filled with tourists by Lake Atitlan. The lake is stunning, and our hotel had a little dock on the lake and we enjoyed many an afternoon lounging in the sun and swimming.

As it is rainy season we spent our afternoons in restuarants when it was raining, one in particular, Zoo La, we would go in for lunch at noon and leave at 10 pm. The restuarant was beautiful decorated and was made up of long coffee tables surrounded by cushions, hammocks and tree chairs. It was perfect for lounging and lazying. Especially as the food has been amazing! Even though it took about two hours to come, it was always worth wait. It was filled with other travellers, so we got to meet some really interestong people and enjoyed losing oursleves in the relaxed atmosphere; reading, writing in our journals, playing backgammon - managed to convince a lovely Israeli guy to give me some tips as I am awful! - and chatting. One day Lizzie managed to fall asleep in a hammock for over 4 hours, and didn´t even notice that I was gone for about 2 hours.

If we weren´t extremely relaxed from our lack of activity, we also spent several evening in the los Thermales. We managed to misbook the baths and spent the first evening in a ´death by heat´sauna, where Lizzie and I thought our hair was going to set my fire! The guys we were with mistook Sauna for Baths, but after throwing a lot of water on the drum of heat, and ourselves, we got to a bearable heat. Which was helped by jumping into a nearby cold pool, which was freezing! Even though the evening was slightly traumatic initially, we came out with baby soft skin and extremely clean pores!

We managed to book the baths for the second evening and spent an evening sitting in a outdoor bath of heated water, with drinks and our friends, it was much more relaxing and fairly blissful.

If all that wasn´t enough for us in the pampering line, we also got the most incredible massage by a local masseuse, we call ´Magic Hands´. Lizzie and I have decided we want to marry ´Magic Hands´and Dr Brownie.

Besides eating and lazying, we also we visted some of the neighbouring villages. We were really lucky to go paragliding which was one fo the best experiences of the trip! It was over the lake and surrounding hills and was just exhilarating! We were in the air for about 40 minutes and got to fly with the eagles.

San Pedro will always remain in our memories for the paragliding, stunning views and Dr Brownie cakes!
