Friends we met the previous night and morning. Elodie - from France (though her English and English accent are superb, so you wouldn't know it) and Mark (looking to get his pH.D in philosophy), Dave and I wander down the street away from our hostel.

Gave a warm feeling to the town. (not city! thought it's the second largest "city" in Laos).

We'd seen many boaters like this on the slow boat voyage, but this shot was captured from the road near Phousi (poo-see) Hill/Wat on the north-western area of Luang Prabang.

the stairs up to the top of the hill/temple would have taken us only about five minutes, but Dave, Phil and I stopped every minute to snap a shot of Buddha statues, and the like.
