These are all over the place. It's basically built on a scooter platform and the handlebars are usually low, giving the impression that the drives are leaning forward in a (futile) attempt to race eachother. Generally hilarious. Especially since I saw one license place that was KA05, which read "Kaos" very appropriate!
First, I have to confess I'm writing this at about 2am after several beers. Today went well and we finished training at the office. The team here in Bangalore was nice enough to give me a gift of a beautiful carved elephant (Kaylin, I know you're jealous), photo attached.

The way to the hotel from work, which normally takes about about an hour, was plagued by driving monsoon rains today. Sheets of rain and the streets don't have sewers so all are flooded. I fell asleep in the two hours of stop and go traffic. Arrived back at the hotel just in time to receive a call from Sundeep.

Quick backround: Amanda and I originally booked this trip to visit our friend Rangu for his wedding next week. Rangu put me in touch with one of his friends named Sundeep who lives in Bangalore, and we arranged to meet tonight for maybe a few drinks and dinner at a chinese restaurant.

Well, meeting Sundeep, who turned out to be a very cool guy who attened school in oregon not long ago, like eveything was not planned. We had several beers in the British / American pub of this

nice hotel and then more friends of Sundeep joined us. Unfortunately, bars close at 11pm in Bangalore. So Sundeep, his girlfriend and I took my car and driver looking for extra supplies. We didn't have to go far, around the corner guys will sell you booze after hours so we bought a few bottles of vodka and beer, then went back to one guy's house nearby.

The house turned out to be a big family house with walls around the yard. We, all 7 of us, crept into the house where we hung out in his bedroom and played music while we sipped beer and other booze and just talked. Since we accidentally skipped dinner (didn't even notice with all the beer) one of the girls whipped up some roast mutton (oh yeah) with gravy and rice. And then we ate some leftover cake. At about 2am we decided it was time to call it a night. My driver had been waiting the whole night for me, so I tipped him and extra 200 rupees (about $5) which is good. Tomorrow he will have the day off for independence day so I'll be on my own or will coordinate with Sandeep for plans.

Did I mention my vacation has begun? Ready to sleep now 😊

The team that I worked with all week was nice enough to give me this gift. It's really well made, solid wood.
