Rang around trying to get a dog sitter for a couple of hours but not very successful being a Sunday. Marg met Edna at the washing line and she offered to mind them, so we left them in their crates and off we went to Katherine Gore for a walk for about 4 hours.

We did a 3.7km’s walk which was 90% up hill. The park ranger told us it was about 230 steps to climb up to the top of the Gore, but he didn’t count the rocks, well Marg's said that she thinks he lied as at last count was 280 steps and there were that many huge rocks to climb up also.

It was hot and tiring as Marg needed to stop and have her puffer, the Park ranger also said that once we reached the top it was all down hill another lie maybe he was thinking of going in politics with all the crap he was saying. At the bottom of the hill we had another rest and Marg finished off her 1 ½ litre water bottle and she suddenly moved as she head a noise in the bush and she said to me “tell me that noise was in the air and not in the bush” and my reply was “no it was the buzzards circling us to pick at our remains”. So off we go for our last couple of hundred metres and they put loose gravel on the pathway and Marg slipped and going down on 1 knee and of course being such a Lady she said ouch.

At the bottom there was a notice board that read that the day’s temperature could get up to 40 today but that was not near it Marg thinks it was more like 60 degrees and she darers anyone to argue with her.

Stopped at woollies on way back to camp because Edna wouldn’t take any money for looking after the dogs, but we came to an agreement. She loves pink ladies apples and that what she wanted so we brought her ½ dozen apples,4 bananas, 4 mandarins, 2 oranges and an apple pie for their dessert and a box of chocolates, we greatly appreciate her watching out for our dogs.

It was good to be back in Optus range to speak to friends back home Rebecca, Craig, Dennis, Shelly, Russ and Barbara, Johnny tonight. We have booked the dogs into Taggerty Kennels tomorrow for the day, it usually costs $18/dog/day but they will do it for $30 total. We also requested that they stayed in the same kennel but Bailey wanted a big TV. to watch didn’t get one.
