After spending 4 days in Iguaza and having the adventurous part of our trip, we were both ready for a relaxing stay in Buenos Aires. After flying to BA (without losing any luggage), we arrived to an apartment I had reserved off of Craigslist. It ended up being ideal for us. It was a loft style in the heart of the San Telmo district which is the tango area in BA. We were 2 blocks from the main plaza and 3 blocks from the metro. Quiet, calm, a far cry from our first hostel in Iguazu. Thank you God! We spent a wonderful week relaxing, walking, eating lots of great food, walking some more, taking advantage of the great jacuzzi tub in the apartment, and just really enjoying the second leg our honeymoon. We both agreed that we felt like the honeymoon really started once we arrived in Buenos Aires.

Here are some pictures from our trip there. Enjoy! 1 more entry to go before I finished with the trip. I love taking pictures and have lots to share with you guys.

The local antique "feria" is very impressive. They shut down the main roads around the plaza and set up this antique flea market. They have anything you can possibly imagine. It can be like scensory overload at times but very fun.

There were quite a few boths with this big, beautiful, shiny phonographs (that's what they're called, right?) Lovely.

There lots of different street performers during the "feria" on Sunday. This gentleman was doing a tango performance and grabbed a lady from the crowd. The funny thing is a week later I was watching the Travel and Living Channel and they had a show about Buenos Aires and this guy was on it!

Its Sure Windy

There was this couple who had dressed up in clothes lined with wire. They manipulated the wires so it looked like the wind was blowing their clothes. I thought it was very creative. You could take your picture with them and then leave a tip if you wanted.

This neighborhood is famous for having colorfully painted houses.

It is a big tourist draw during the day but has a reputation of being a bit dangerous after dusk.

4 Asses? What?

We went to a restaurant downtown that is called "Los 4 Ases". In spanish this is refering to the ace in a deck of cards but they pronounce it "asses"; it always makes me giggle :)

This is a mall downtown that architecturally is beautiful. Very European. I loved it.

These paintings were on the ceilings of the rotunda in the Galeria Pacifico.

The statues

Like most big capital cities in Europe and South America, there are a lot of statues and plazas. Buenos Aires is no exception.

heaven in the form of a little dessert

This little "postre" (dessert) I discovered in the bakeries here and I fell in love. It reminds me of those arabic desserts that have a very flaky layered sweetv crust. In the middle is a sweet surprise of a jam (made from a fruit that is similiar to the flavor or an orange but not as tangy/acidic). mmmmmm!!!
