Last night, I decided to take a stroll before the sun set and Venice was too hard to navigate (which isn't saying much, since it's impossible in the daylight as well). I was in San Marco's piazza some ten years ago, and remember it being pretty cool, but I thought the tourist awe had perhaps waned a bit. Not a chance. This is a beautiful place, so I had my first gelato (I promised the trainer only once a week!) and enjoyed the sights...

Across the Grand Canal is the beautiful church of St. George the Great. I'm hoping to catch the vaporetto there soon...

The knockoffs

The street vendors, who are illegal, try to hawk their knockoff designer bags where tourists walk. They are constantly on the move, since they will be fined heavily if caught by the officials.

Hi Rachel!
Hi Rachel! I would totally go for one of those tanks! Very cute! Hope you are having fun. It is hot and humid here in Cleveland too. At least you have nice things to look at in the heat. Best of luck.

Hello, Mamma
Rachel, it looks like you are having an amazing, yet mosquito-heavy experience. I hope all is well, and you find what you are looking for. I can't wait to hear how your research fits in to your dissertation and hear all about that. I am sorry I missed you last time in KC; hopefully, it won't happen again. :-) I love you! Hanna
