Hello everyone,
We are just about to start our 9 day vacation. We were going to go out of the country however we haven’t gotten paid yet and have not received our alien registration cards, so we just decided to travel around Korea. We plan on first heading to Busan the second largest city in Korea, which is located on the coast. We hope to spend a lot of time on the beach and maybe try to take a ferry to one of the islands. We haven’t booked any hotels or train tickets, so hopefully everything goes smoothly.
Two weekends ago was mud fest!! It was awesome!!! For those of you in Colorado it is essentially a kinetics but with mud everywhere. It was on the beach so we would get all muddy and then go swimming. We went on a tour with a company called adventure Korea so they provided the transportation and hotel. The hotel was on the beach, but we shared it with 3 other people and had to sleep on the floor, oh did I mention it was a love motel. A love motel is where prostitutes go or couples that live with their parents
Mud Fest
We were covered in mud for Days! who want to rent it for the hour or the night. Mud fest was quite an experience; they had mud wrestling, mud slides, and mud painting with colored mud. I sprained my ankle on a mud slide, and josh and I both returned home sick, needless to say, we had a great time. We met a lot of really cool people. Hopefully we can stay in touch and actually have friends, not that josh and I are getting sick or each other, but it is nice to have other people to hang out with. There are a lot of very interesting and weird people out here in Korea. Most of them are doing the same thing as us, trying to travel and earn a little cash to bring home. The funny thing is that when we meet couples and ask why they are in Korea, the guy just points to his girlfriend and I (josh) say me too.
We have recently learned how to use the subway here and it is pretty nice. It costs about 90 cents to get on and then depending on how far you go it will charge you accordingly. The subway is pretty clean

In Korea most children and adults flash the piece sign and quiet; everyone pretty much sleeps or watches their phone. Oh yeah did I mention that they have TV on their phones. The phones here are ridiculous they look normal and then an antenna will pull out and the screen will flip sideways and these people will be flipping through TV stations on the subway its crazy. We also need to post some pictures of the cars here, most of the cars in Korea look normal minus the five extra mirrors and two extra spoilers they put on them it’s hilarious. I will write more later about the taxi drivers here, its BRUTAL! ! !
On our last day before vacation josh and I went on a field trip to see a Korean play with the kindergarteners. The entire play was in Korean and it was geared toward a younger audience, it was brutal!! The play was the grasshopper and the ant, the one where the grasshopper plays all summer and then freezes when he doesn’t have food for the winter, it was brutal but we knew what was going on, kinda. We attached some pictures of our students from the field trip. Don't let their cute faces fool

One of the cutest kids ever. you; they really are monsters some times. Now we are in intensives at school, so we work 8 hours a day with no breaks, teaching 9 or 10 classes. This only lasts for four weeks but so far it has been exhausting. Some times the kids say the funniest things, especially the kindergarteners, we play little jokes on them and sometimes teach them inappropriate saying, it’s hilarious. They really are smart though, some of my third graders can calculate math problems that some of my 10th graders couldn't back home. It’s especially interesting for Josh who is teaching science, when he hasn't seen that information since he was in that grade. Some times we will just reply, what do you all think?
We are really starting to realize that we are actually living in Korea, it really hasn't totally set in yet. We just tune out the different language and it really is very similar to back home. However we don’t have our friends and family here so we are really starting to miss you all!!
